Tornado Relief – How You can Help!!

Posted by Leslie | It's a Coupon Life! | Wednesday 7 March 2012 9:06 am

Wow, it is like a repeat of last year. Tornados are making a mess of our country and leaving devastation in their paths. I am so very grateful that the storms skipped over my community last week, but I know the fear I had the whole day praying we would not be hit. So many were not as lucky so I want to tell you how you can help tornado victims.

How can I help?

Well, this morning, we are bringing you one simple and powerful way to immediately reach out and help those who are trying to rebuild once again… Purchase a subscription to All You Magazine or any other magazine of your choice (donation amounts vary on different price points). For every subscription sold through this special fundraising link$6 will be donated to tornado relief efforts.

Last year, right after the April 2011 tornadoes hit, we began this fundraiser, naming it Click4Hope. We invited other bloggers to join us – and together we all raised a whopping $28,000! (See the news coverage HERE) This past December we donated $7,000 each to the following: Cleveland, TN., Ringgold, GA., Moody AL., and Joplin, MO

What is All You Magazine?
All You Magazine is the ultimate couponer’s magazine. Each issue is stocked with up to $100 in coupons, money-saving tips, and frugal recipes, style tips and activities. Normally you would pay $2.49 an issue at Walmart – which is worth every penny. (April’s issue has over $80 in coupons!)

Through Click4Hope’s special fundraising link – not only can get All You for just $1.25 an issue (50% off the cover price) – but $6 will be donated to help disaster relief efforts in your own hometown!

Choose Your Subscription!

This year – our goal is $50,000, and I know that we can reach it together! Please share this post with friends and family – let’s combine our reach to make a big difference!

Nutrition and health has been on my mind recently. Hopefully, you already knew that by reading my recent about going into the chocolate business ;) Anyway, have you ever looked at the vitamin aisle? There are like a billion supplements and vitamins. What do you pick? The biggest worry to me is taking too much. I mean how do you know if you are taking enough through food vs adding vitamins?! Then on top of it I am nursing and eat horribly. Troy thinks I eat air ;) I do take a prenatal still, but other than that I hope I am giving good nutrition to the baby.

I was introduced to NutritionPossible.com by Centrum this week. It is a super cool tool to help you learn what you need. There is this quick form you go through, which was pretty fun doing touchscreen on my tablet. They ask you about what you eat to understand the amounts of servings you are having of dairy, proteins etc.. They then calculate all of this out and let you know what you should be doing. For me it recommend a maternal vitamin. Yea! I did something right! I was also given the idea to eat asparagus, blackberries, king crab and bell pepper. Not sure about cooking king crab, but the rest is yummy!

Want to get started to better health? Try out the assessment to see what you may be lacking in your diet and then print off the $10 coupon for a Pronutrients Supplement! Then enter the giveaway below! BTW, the more comments I have the better chance I have to win tickets for the Blissdom Conference this month!!

I am participating in a sponsored campaign hosted by One2One Network. I received incentives and am eligible for prizing. While all opinions stated are my own, I make no claims about NutritionPossible.com as a product or its effectiveness.

Chocolate Anyone?

Posted by Leslie | It's a Coupon Life! | Monday 6 February 2012 3:25 pm

chocolate is healthy

This is kind of a post to touch base and survey some of you. Last week, I was introduced to Xocai which is a healthy chocolate. Yes, chocolate is healthy in moderation and dark chocolate is the best type for you which is where Xocai comes into the picture. What if you could eat 3 pieces of chocolate a day and ditch those prescription drugs you are taking to keep your body in check? What about drinking chocolate and losing weight? These are the benefits people using Xocai are seeing.

I am not trying to sell you on the idea, but wondering if any of this piques your interest. I am interested in signing up to sell and to eat it, but it isn’t exactly cheap. However, my coupon mind sees it as this, if Troy can use less prescriptions each month or less vitamins and supplements it may save us money in the long run. Is there a price on a healthier you?

Have you heard of Xocai before? Do you  want to know more? Would you be interested in buying it or selling? I would need 3 people to sign up under me to pay for my monthly supply :)

Please leave me your comments below. I am seriously considering joining, but really want to see what the interest is with my readers. Thanks for your help!

Win Jockey Sports Bra & Purex Crystals

Posted by Leslie | Giveaways!,Reviews | Friday 20 January 2012 7:06 pm

Wow, it has been awhile for a new giveaway! I think you will find that this one was worth the wait! What is January notorious for? Resolutions to lose weight, right? So, Jockey put out their new Tech Terry Performance Sports Bras for just this occasion.

Personally, I have never purchased a sports bra. I am just too cheap! Seriously, I never buy things for myself unless it is on clearance and I REALLY need it.

Back to the point… Sports bras are great for working out! I am a believer!  I am not one to wear a sports bra to the gym by itself, but if you are Jockey made a convenient key pocket for you. You may wonder what is so “Tech” about the Jockey Tech Terry Performance Sports Bras? Well, it has moisture-wicking technology which keeps you dry and cool. Who wants to feel sticky when they work out?! The most important thing to me was it is comfortable. I am nursing and I need a bra that is both supportive and doesn’t hurt me in sensitive places :) This one is very comfortable while on and working out!

Now, how do you keep a moisture-wicking bra to keep on wicking? Typically, you would not want to use a fabric softener on it. Fabric softeners are known to inhibit the drying or wicking ability in fabrics. This why you don’t use them on towels. (You knew that, right?!) Purex Crystals are a new way to keep all of your fabrics soft while they keep on wicking ;)

The Purex Crystals are 92% natural and they do not contain oils like other fabric softeners. This means they can be used on towels or your new Jockey Sports Bra! I was a little concerned trying out the Purex Crystals Tropical Splash. When you pour it out the scent is a bit over powering. However, once my clothes were washed and dried the scent was much mellower. The cool thing about using the crystals in the washer is they are supposed to infuse your clothes and they really did. While I wore my fresh clothes every so often I would get a hint of the Tropical Splash, but it wasn’t over powering. Troy didn’t even notice on his clothes, which I had been concerned about.

Here’s the fun part! For those of you interested in a new sports bra here is a 20% coupon for Jockey! Be sure to enter below to win your own Purex Crystals and Sports Bra!

Jockey and Purex provided free samples of their products so I could review them. However, all of the options expressed here are my own.
